ABOUT US

Shelly and David Sherfey market and sell residential real estate in the Hudson Valley region of New York, the southern most part of what is considered as "upstate" by the downstaters in NYC, just southeast of us... We've been practicing real estate full time since 2001. This photo of us, looking into the sun, was taken at last year's Heart Association Heart Walk. We'll be there again this year too.

We work under the umbrella of Keller Williams Realty, presently the fourth largest real estate company in the US, but more importantly; They allow us, and encourage us, to establish our own distinct business identity separate from the Keller Williams national brand. After all, it is the agent who does all the work in this business, NOT the company, contrary to what many think. KW likes agents who treat their real estate practice as a business, and we like that.

We are a husband and wife team, with a family that is now out of the house and almost through college, and as a result we now have no family distractions to keep us away from our work…. Prior to going into real estate we both worked 30 years, with much of that time in the corporate world, with customers over our careers like the Beach Boys and Toyota, products from vitamins to concert sound equipment, and we have the work-ethic mentality that goes along with all of that experience.

Skilled in thinking things through completely

Once we learned all that the real estate industry had to teach us, it was clear that there were a few things missing. At some point we made a directional change in our real estate practice, reaching back into our past experience to bring a strong marketing approach into the foreground of what we offer to our sellers. The culmination of that change is what you find with the properties shown on our first page. Residential Property Marketing's Words-Eye TOUR websites and the marketing methods, processes, strategies and plans surrounding them are central to how we market and sell residential real estate, adding significant value for sellers as well as buyers.

We volunteer

We do volunteer work for the Heart Association, The Warwick Garden Club, and the Warwick Hisorical Society and anyone else who grabs us when we have the time.

We have a life too!

Shelly is an avid gardener, and with our 1934 farm house has developed a 'love' for stripping and re-finishing, gradually bringing our old house back to it's original glory. She is also a stained glass artist, specializing in windows, and has made some rather grand pieces over the past few years. She makes memorable things with her hands that make our home, and our family's homes - memorable. She also spends a lot of her own time training new (and old) real estate agents at KW.

David enjoys internet marketing, photography, and beer brewing. His beer finds it's way to events sponsored by all of the organizations we touch (except for the Heart Society...), with one annual event for the Historical Society, "Tavern Night" every February at Baird's Tavern. Baird's Tavern, a stone building in the heart of Warwick Village, is one of the town jewels owned by the Society, serving as it's headquarters, training facility, and more recently for social events like Tavern Night - where the beer is featured, receptions, and weekend concert events.
